Minutes of the 2 nd VMC, held on 19.12.2011
The Principal and member secretary of VMC welcomed the chairman VMC Sri PK BHUYAN, Chief Executive, NAGAON PAPER MILL, JAGIROAD and extends welcome to the other VMC members. The attendance of the VMC as follows:

After the welcome address, the Principal requested the Chairman to preside over the meeting.
The chairman VMC read out the minutes of the 2 nd VMC meeting point wise. As there were no comments raised by the members, the minutes of all points were confirmed.
Then the chairman wanted to know the steps taken to improve the academic atmosphere of the vidyalaya from the Principal and result achievement for the coming academic session.
The Principal in his reply said that the Vidyalaya has achieved best result for classes XII and X in the region and three out of first five position was bagged by our students. The same message was communicated in the previous minutes of VMC meeting.
Further the Principal informed that the syllabus was already completed for board going classes i.e.XII class and one round of Pre-Board examination is conducted and for the rest of the classes syllabus will be completed by middle of January 2012.He also stated that the parents of class I to class XII were called immediately after the half yearly examination for having interaction with parents and during that time he received many practicable suggestions. Although the attendance was less he would continue to hold such meetings of PTA for better communication between school and the parents which will ensure good academic atmosphere.
The Principal also brought to the notice of the Chairman that he needs the help of the management to improve the sports ground by earth filling so that play ground could be put in good use .The Chairman agreed to extend his support to improve the infrastructure facilities including play ground.
Smt R. L. Bora wanted to know the arrangement of teaching Assamese language .The Principal once again explained that teaching Assamese will begin from the next academic session by engaging part time teacher. She further suggested to Principal for calling experts to give moral education to all students.
The Principal in his reply said that the in morning assembly we give a lot of scope for moral development through morning meditation and prayers. He also said that he has introduced book review in morning assembly which will boost reading habit and develop a sense of discipline and devotion to school and community.
Mr Bhattacahrgee requested the principal to give sufficient attention to slow bloomers by making suitable plans. The principal informed that special classes are already conducted by the teachers for the board going classes by making double period and zero period system in the time-table. Similar exercise will be carried out by the teachers for the rest of the classes from January 2012.
Dr S. Dey, CMO has informed that toilets need improvements in the sense that the girls toilets required replacement of doors and new fittings of wash basin and tiles etc. It is also suggested to keep sanitary items in the girl’s toilet. In short a overall renovation of building fittings are requested. The committee agreed to oversee the conditions of the toilets and other repair works which are urgent in nature immediately after the meeting. Mr Dey further pointed out that hygiene is not maintained by the canteen contractor and requested for frequent visits by the school personnel to check the items served to students. He also requested to find the option of closing the canteen because the serving unhealthy food can lead to health issues.
The Principal also informed that he is exploring the possibilities of finding contractors to run the canteen to improve the quality but there was no suitable person available to run the canteen. However he assured that he will constitute a committee to monitor the items prepared and served to students. The principal also made a request to the chairman to consider reducing the rent of the canteen which is presently Rs 300/- p.m so that the person is able to pay the rent regularly. The principal also made it clear that it is not a good option to stop the functioning of canteen facility because some students who start so early and they travel long distance from their home and they need some refreshment. After listening the comments of the principal, the chairman readily agreed to continue to run the canteen at the reduced rent of Rs 100/ per month.
The principal also put forward the proposal to provide a basement for fixing water coolers.
Then principal expressed his proposals for beautification inside the school campus by making bamboo huts to showcase the Assamese tradition. The chairman appreciated the interest of the principal and informed that he will support him.
The Sri P K Bhuyan chairman VMC has agreed to the proposals and also congratulated for the efforts that the vidyalaya has taken to celebrate school annual sports day just concluded on 15 th December 2011.The chairman also appealed to Principal to maintain same amount of enthusiasm to improve the academic field too.
The senior most teacher Mr R.Saminathan proposed vote of thanks to the members participated in the VMC meeting.
